As a cross-sectoral firm, we have been fortunate to work with a wide variety of clients on a diversity of topics and project types.
We combine professional research and consulting services with a large survey capacity. Across our five offices, we employ more than 60 research staff members and more than 200 survey and support staff members. We have grown over the last 35 years to become one of Canada's largest independently owned and operated research and evaluation firms. In 2011, we created a partnership with Malatest International, which is a New Zealand-based evaluation and advisory firm that provides a variety of services in the Pacific.
Our management team has more than 200 years of combined experience and brings a diversity of skills and experiences to lead large and small projects across Canada and internationally. Our team includes researchers with graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines, as well as professional development that supports the work that we complete. Our researchers hold credentials such as Credentialed Evaluator (CE) from the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES), Certified Analytics and Insights Professional (CAIP) from CAIP Canada, Certified Market Research Professional (CMRP) from the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA), and Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) from the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). Our team members are also members of organizations such as the American Evaluation Association (AEA), the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC), International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), Social Value International (SVI), and Social Value Canada (SVC), and are continually involved in professional development and credentialing to support the continuous improvement of our teams.
We offer professional services in both English and French. In addition, our survey staff members are collectively fluent in more than 25 different languages, which allows us to complete surveys and other data collection with individuals who would not be as comfortable participating in research in English or French.

R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. is a full-service research organization with in-house Computer Assisted Telephone/Web/Personal Interview (CATI/CAWI/CAPI) systems; in-house, professional focus group facilities; and state-of-the-art data scanning and analysis software. We have completed hundreds of research and evaluation projects for clients throughout Canada.
Founded in 1985, Malatest has now grown to one of Canada’s largest independently owned and operated research and evaluation firms. We began our operations in Victoria, BC and opened our second office in Edmonton, AB in 1999. We then expanded to Ontario (Ottawa and Toronto) in 2003. Beginning with a staff of two, Malatest now has a staff of approximately 65 professional researchers and more than 200 survey and support staff available to support clients with their research and consulting needs.
