Premier David Eby announced on Monday, March 2, 2026 that British Columbia was officially ending Daylight Savings Time. B.C.’s new time zone will be called “Pacific Time,” according to the province.
We assisted with a landmark study in 2019, the Daylight Savings Time Public Consultation. This survey broke provincial records for public engagements and involved us analyzing and reporting on over 220,000 survey completions, 279 email submissions from individuals, and 15 formal submissions from organizations and experts.
Malatest is proud to have contributed the report that assisted with this decision.
